Rosie and Joe’s Deighton Lodge wedding was an all hands on deck affair, and that’s what made it such a special one to photograph.
I arrived to bridesmaids intensely organising spreadsheets, the wedding morning was a busy one with lots of last-minute preparations happening. Rosie and Joe had already done the legal part of their wedding a few days before, as they wanted a more wedding ceremony tailored to them. They enlisted the help of one of their closest friends, who just so happens to be a talented poet and a bit of a word master to perform the ceremony instead. He completely nailed it as you’d expect. There was laughter, tears, the full works.
Everyone headed outside to get the confetti thrown and the party started, whilst some dodgy looking dark clouds lingered above. A few little showers didn’t make a difference, it just made the moments when the sun shone so much better. The wedding elves did an amazing job setting the barn up for the reception, before everyone piled in for dinner and speeches. Rosie and Joe treated their guests to a Ceilidh in the evening, and I think every single one of them took part at some point which was both brilliant and hilarious to watch. I love a good confused ceilidh face.
