Back in March I met Lucy and Judd for the first time for their portrait shoot in Manchester. By now, all of Lucy and Judd’s family and friends should know they are getting married. You see, these secretive little souls have been keeping the fact they have a pretty spectacular (massive understatement there) wedding planned for next year a secret. Over the weekend they threw a surprise ‘we’re getting married!!’ party in the guise of a ‘we’ve been engaged for 10 years’ party, so now everyone knows the Judd’s (as they are known) are soon to marry! I imagine it was quite the party, possibly followed by some fairly sore heads…it may even still be going on!
Lucy and Judd share my love of industrial architecture so I was more than happy to take them both on a bit of tour around Ancoats and Castlefield, stopping off at my favourite grotty alleyways along the route, the lucky things. It was so nice to spend some time with them both, I’ve exchanged plenty of excitable emails with Lucy over the past few weeks and have been really looking forward to meeting them both in person. It instantly felt like meeting up with old friends which is always an incredible feeling when meeting with my couples for the first time. I’m so very lucky to get to hang out with, and experience such incredible moments in their lives, it’s something I’ll never take for granted.
Their wedding is going to be happening next year at Victoria Warehouse and I for one am very excited about this. Lucy is a total creative genius (you can check out her work here and here) and is planning on making practically everything, including her dress. When someone with such an artistic personalitiy is in charge of the planning you know it will be impressive I’m sure. I can’t wait to see how everything turns out, I’m already counting down the days.
