Lucie and Andrew choose in and around Store Street for their rainy portrait shoot in Manchester a couple of weeks ago. Having booked me a long time ago now for their wedding, it was great to finally meet them both in person. And they brought masks. Animal masks. Specifically a cat and dog mask. Imagine my absolute joy at that?
We trudged around the Manchester streets in the rain (this is becoming a bit of a bad habit of mine, I’m really sorry to all of you who have been put through this!) for a couple of hours basically dodging into every doorway and sheltered back alley we could find along the way. We found a warm welcome for a few minutes at the wonderful Clampdown Records, the owner could clearly see the need for some warmth in our eyes I think! After a search through the stacks of vinyl for their first dance song and a quick portrait with that we ventured back out into the drizzle, animal masks in hand. Both Lucie and Andrew were absolutely brilliant sports the whole time and it felt like hanging out with two friends as we chatted away about wedding plans, holidays, music..the list goes on.
I’m so excited to see what their festival wedding at Andrew’s family home brings in a few weeks time, at least I know these two are fully prepared to embrace whatever the weather may bring! I’ve got my sunglasses and wellies at the ready… hopefully I’ll only be needing the sunglasses. Here are few of my favourites from their shoot.
