Suzy and James had their wedding back in September at Yorkshire Sculpture Park. I was so excited when I received their enquiry; firstly because Suzy is the creative genius behind Paper Fudge whose work I’ve loved for a while now, and secondly because I didn’t know you could actually get married at the sculpture park. I’ve visited here a few times and there is always something new to seek out. If you haven’t been you really should go, take a packed lunch and make sure you take plenty of money for the gift shop because it’s pretty incredible.
Suzy and James wanted to keep the day relaxed and informal and that’s exactly what it was. After a beautiful ceremony performed by James’ sister, everyone took their drinks outside where there wasa chance for guests to have a little explore of the park. The sun came out at just the right time which gave us a chance to have a little wander round the sculptures for some photographs.
Naturally Suzy wanted to put a personal stamp on their wedding day and made pretty much everything, with some help from her green fingered Mum who did a stirling job growing the beautiful reception flowers on her allotment (the pressure!). It would be rude not to mention the unbelievable selection of cakes brought along by their friends and family to create that cake table…I went home with the greatest of doggy bags that night.
The greatest of days, thanks so much Suzy and James for having me along!
